How it all started

  • In 2009, we set out to design and create the first Crusoe collection. We started researching around for the most common complaints men have about their innerwear. We asked family, we asked friends, we asked friends of friends, and even strangers around the internet. 

    We talked to them about their underwear. What they liked. What they loved. And most importantly, what they hated. A lot of them said something like this.

I think I'm allergic, why else would these undies give me terrible rashes?

    • So we listened. We understood. And we got down to business.

      Our one aim: to design innerwear for…well…people. Normal people. Everyday people. People who come in all shapes and sizes. Practical people who do anything and everything.  

      Not people who tour the Himalayas for 10 days in a year, but for people who commute to work every day of the year. Not powerlifters who lift 200 kgs in one go, but for people who lift 2 kilos more than a 100 times a day. You. We wanted to design something that would work for you. Work like you. Move like you. Breathe like you. Adapt like you. Something that feels like you–every single day.

      After months of research and development (certainly helped that we had already been in textile manufacturing since the 80s) and creating concepts and designs, prototyping and trying our different materials, undergoing tests, trials, iterations, and tribulations, we came up with a top-quality product. 

      We knew we had nailed Crusoe when one of our customers said this:
